Chainless Drive Assembly

All Chainless Conveyors are driven by a powerful caterpillar-type endless roller chain drive, which exerts line pull direct through the centerline of the trolley body. The drive dogs on the roller chain, which engage the front and rear of the trolley bodies, “cam” as they contact the trolley bodies, transmitting smooth, non-pulsating forward motion (Or reverse motion if required).

An adjustable torque limiter is furnished with all chainless drive assemblies. When the torque limiter is adjusted properly, any condition which may create an unusual strain on the conveyor, will stop conveyor. After the overload condition is corrected, the conveyor resumes operation without reseeing.

When laying out a Chainless system, the drive assembly must be located in an area where the overall length of the drive assembly can be mounted on a straight section of track. The drive assembly can be located on an incline only if the incline includes a straight section of track long enough to accommodate the drive assembly.

When locating a drive in a multiplane system, place the drive assembly so that a decline curve is on the slack side of the drive

Chainless drive assemblies are designed to accommodate the standard trolley pitch of 12”, 18”, 24”, 36” and 48”. Other trolley pitches can be furnished, but the factory must be consulted.

MULTIPLE DRIVE UNITS
Adding two or more drives to a chainless Conveyor system requires synchronization of all drive units with respect to individual loadings. Standard drive units offer a maximum conveyor speed of 60 FPM. If higher speeds are required, contact Factory.

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS
If unusual conveyor system applications require special drives other than the standard electric motor operated unit, contact the factory.
